On September 30th, 2015, we celebrated the most spiritually fruitful life of our sister Gladys Temple. She was 89 years old and had graded Emmaus Bible courses for prison inmates.
Thousands of courses over decades.
On Lord’s Day morning, September 27, she went to be with her Lord and her beloved Sidney with whom she had shared the ministry to those behind bars. Only our Lord knows how many tests she graded or the number of inmates that are or will in Glory because of their untiring efforts. He visited the jails, usually 5 nights a week. She graded the tests, usually hundreds a weekl I cannot help but think of the song, “May those who come behind us find us faithful.”
Several of us found them faithful and are trying to fill those two pairs of shoes. She was living proof that we should never doubt if one quiet lady can do very great things for God. I know it wasn’t easy but was it ever worthwhile.
With great thanksgiving to Gladys and the Lord she served,
